We’re currently working with a client who is downsizing from a family home to an apartment. We have had many discussions about the size of her new dining table and how she is going to use the new space. She wants seating for 6-8 people, we think there is room for a 4 seater dining table… what to do? We have landed at a generously sized 4 seater dining table that will fit a tight 6. The spare dining chairs are placed in strategic positions through the apartment. The new apartment building has generous communal dining spaces they can be booked to cater for larger groups and an oversized table just isn’t necessary in the apartment.
You might have read our blog post about the time Sophie spilled a full glass of red wine on her sofa. Because she had selected an easy care, stain resistant fabric, the fabric cleaned up perfectly and you would never know that the spill happened in the first place. Careful selection of practical fabrics is something we take pride in doing. We want our clients to be able to live in the spaces as comfortably and without care as much as we can manage.
Window coverings, fashion verses how you live. Melbournians are still going strong with their love of shutters. And why not, they are pretty. They also bleed light, and if you are a light sleeper, you may not find them to be the perfect answer for your bedroom. We’ve seen many clients add curtains over the top of the shutters to block light… two solutions instead of one.
We think that a little bit of forethought can result in a space that is well resolved stylish space that is a pleasure to be in because it functions in the best way for your lifestyle.
